Moving Insurance
No matter how you plan on moving, how much help you get, or how professional your moving companies are, you must make sure that your items are fully insured before you move. It is a good idea to photograph your valuable possessions before you move so that you know in what condition they were. Keep in mind that the basic coverage by your moving companies will almost always NOT insure your belongings fully! The extent of the liabilities of the moving companies is usually determined by you and the mover.
The price of your insurance depends on the kind of policy you chose (full coverage, actual value, amount of deductible etc) as well as the weight of your items. Two major types of insurance that will help you save a lot of money are homeowner insurance and transit insurance. If items get lost, you are to make a claim within 9 months of the event. The moving company will then respond within a month, and will issue a statement as to deny the claim or accept charges within 2 months.
There is also an option of choosing a Moving Insurance company, these are the companies that offer moving insurance and there are numerous options available on the internet today.
